SOUTH WINDSOR — Construction of a Costco Wholesale store started Monday at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor.

Town Manager Michael Maniscalco said owners of the membership-based retail store are looking to open on Thanksgiving.

Sen. Saud Anwar, D-South Windsor, touted the jobs brought to town during construction and in the new, approximately 163,000-square-foot store.
“Costco is already widely known for its policies of strong salaries for workers, with its starting pay at many stores at $16, well above the minimum wage,” Anwar said.

Wappingers Falls, NY Tractor Supply Co. celebrated the official grand opening of a new store on February 20th. The ceremony began with a ribbon cutting led by store manager, Mike Jensen. There was a vintage 1950’s Ferguson tractor for photo-ops and Country 107.3 WRWD DJ’d the festivities. Discounts and specials were also featured during the event.

The new Tractor Supply Co. store, located at 1261 Rte. 9, was developed by Wappinger Development Partners LLC, an operating company of New England Retail Properties, Inc. who have developed multiple Tractor Supply Co. stores throughout New England and New York.

Kerry Wood of New England Retail Properties, Inc., brokers lease of Madison Reed Color Bar in Downtown Westport, Connecticut. Matt Halprin, Senior Vice President of New England Retail Properties, Inc. is pleased to announce the sale of the Newtown, Connecticut Tractor Supply Co. located at 116 South Main Street (Route 25), Newtown, Connecticut 06470. According to local land records the property was sold for $5,925,000. The Tractor Supply property consists of a 19,097 square-foot building plus a 15,075 square-foot outdoor sales area on approximately 8.2 acres.

The property was developed by Strawberry Fields, LLC., a subsidiary of New England Retail Properties, Inc. in 2014 and was the first Tractor Supply store in Fairfield County.  The purchaser was a private investor based in Connecticut.
